Christmas

Well Christmas has been good to me this year. I got an Eagle Cuda 168 depth/fish finder and a nice jacket for wading. I have not been fishing in the last week or so but I hope to change that soon. This spring there are a few spots I would like to try to fish from the boat at, Lakeview,Cocoreef, and a couple of farm ponds that I know of. Up till now all of my fly fishing has been from shore or wading. I am really looking forward to March and slightly warmer weather, maybe I,ll go back up to the White river for more trout and maybe a small mouth bass.

Flippin, Arkansas

About two weeks ago my son and I went up to the White river in Arkansas for a long weekend of trout fishing and a sanity break. It was a little on the foggy and drizzled the whole time but the fish did not mind at all. We fished at Ranchette and Cotter and did pretty good for ourselves. Most of the fish were between 12 and 18 inch's long and mostly Rainbows with a Brown and a Carp thrown in. Great fun was had by all. It was a good time to bond with the boy and not think about school (for him) or work (for me). I love that area but I wouldn't want to live there full time. I am looking forward to spring and warmer weather so I can get back to Brim and Bass.

First Blog entry

So I'm sitting here at work trying to stay awake reading other peoples fly fishing blogs and I say to myself "I can do that" so here I am doing just that. Now I know what your thinking, "Loser, get a life", and so I will do just that.
Time for a little background. I work night shift at a local hospital and part time a outdoor /sportinggoods store. I have a wife and a son, and I like to fish, mostly fly fish but spincast/spinning reel also. Warm water ( Brim, Bass) and cold water (Trout) it does not matter all that much to me. Well that is enough for a first post.
