<br />The boy and I had a chance to bond and fish, witch is one and the same, yesterday afternoon by fishing in a near by creek with light rods, a 1wt and a 3wt, and caught some small bream and almost stepped a water moccasin.

Tonight or this evening really, I got back into it and found a gem of a stream. Highly shaded, clear water that is about 18 inches deep on average, and wiyh a sandy bottom. It has lotts of little Bream just a bit shorter than my hand that are eager to hit a surface fly or a scudd. By the way I was using a 3wt.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-15660314618836477382011-05-09T08:26:00.003-05:002011-05-09T08:30:13.770-05:00Fighter<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgqHfmst23fBCy20peRsISa_d3zRXdXiEFH0KA4mii0cSKW8ztfsmlVE_kZHWAI1vsiPY29U4-Dl8dW-JziWcjU1k2fjFJQDz-Z2wducmM7AcdxNpx21UJvUpLF-Vi1tMzmH_5Ug7LiER1/s1600/bream+11+001.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604707375186207010" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgqHfmst23fBCy20peRsISa_d3zRXdXiEFH0KA4mii0cSKW8ztfsmlVE_kZHWAI1vsiPY29U4-Dl8dW-JziWcjU1k2fjFJQDz-Z2wducmM7AcdxNpx21UJvUpLF-Vi1tMzmH_5Ug7LiER1/s400/bream+11+001.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>This is the "Fighter" pulled out of my neighbors pond using a 5wt W.W.Griggs rod and a size 10 orange/black jitterbee fly fished about a foot under a thingamabobber indicator. </div>apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-30594675270081114052011-05-06T08:15:00.006-05:002011-05-06T08:22:03.246-05:00pond pics<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL47O40V5BIYExYtjkwoFZqbSM5Ku6qdpRnV3cJJrXf1BI8oxWARjBHwdwKShon1A8nutB9-CtC_Yurb8wWMEUyyF1ORbNG2zXYtp0074gbMez6bLf47JrKdKJF1e0DpPcN081Cv_IaQHB/s1600/pond+pics+005.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603591635341062514" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL47O40V5BIYExYtjkwoFZqbSM5Ku6qdpRnV3cJJrXf1BI8oxWARjBHwdwKShon1A8nutB9-CtC_Yurb8wWMEUyyF1ORbNG2zXYtp0074gbMez6bLf47JrKdKJF1e0DpPcN081Cv_IaQHB/s400/pond+pics+005.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdzDGXv43Ask1TK5cY0TTxrYT0n2C0PChaO4k7N_3k8GXMhi4Har5YmOSeYnitDEMFNNJCOrRuWmjhxXveZkXgKeIKR3w77gUfPtVrUb2rCmIujk9Pq9fEiYnsAWW7qLS3ejGcnCnabAow/s1600/pond+pics+003.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603591529607147442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdzDGXv43Ask1TK5cY0TTxrYT0n2C0PChaO4k7N_3k8GXMhi4Har5YmOSeYnitDEMFNNJCOrRuWmjhxXveZkXgKeIKR3w77gUfPtVrUb2rCmIujk9Pq9fEiYnsAWW7qLS3ejGcnCnabAow/s400/pond+pics+003.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Rmn9yYExSq4Z7f3tlxIa4PmaVjj0YeDxM4Jmgr1JkirBvZ0fYQmapfCKDechuBXx93-c2yet1QYfBPjXx2HBx35FhsO40v7bnfwVvgiIIUimkplnKUt0NsL1lIDXD6QA2HmaS7eg94__/s1600/pond+pics+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603591434567204306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Rmn9yYExSq4Z7f3tlxIa4PmaVjj0YeDxM4Jmgr1JkirBvZ0fYQmapfCKDechuBXx93-c2yet1QYfBPjXx2HBx35FhsO40v7bnfwVvgiIIUimkplnKUt0NsL1lIDXD6QA2HmaS7eg94__/s400/pond+pics+002.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQDxa4By6ph2295zKBGWeHxIIfM0ph_YEz4tm-S24ticaCZwCJwuJixMxt2k2VxfKO1ePczrFSqMPTi8MRb4W81-E5g0c2ZCDz-1ebqTfN02fMJQO9Mp3RBTwwRZgKkE6_56lfxHV_0qbh/s1600/pond+pics+001.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603591346817339938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQDxa4By6ph2295zKBGWeHxIIfM0ph_YEz4tm-S24ticaCZwCJwuJixMxt2k2VxfKO1ePczrFSqMPTi8MRb4W81-E5g0c2ZCDz-1ebqTfN02fMJQO9Mp3RBTwwRZgKkE6_56lfxHV_0qbh/s400/pond+pics+001.JPG" /></a><br />My <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">neighbor</span> from across the street has a small pond and I have finally started to fish in it , after only three years of being neighbors. This year I decided to learn to fish subsurface, nymyhs, streamers, and such under a strick indicator (thingamabobber). So I tied up some orange/black and red/black jitterbees and put a strick indicator on and got to work. Talk about a killer combo. I've hooked it all up to the 5wt. rod, a WW Grigg ( my first fly rod ). Hope to have pics soon.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-85161167938167253292011-03-29T09:43:00.002-05:002011-03-29T09:49:38.872-05:00More Bream<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxGHa5xd_ZIh4cNub04Q5rX-jcNKYGdVibw66HNo4ttePEJBoiC0QmxheegaFB69CGnfSQ4tA57aiUYZ8UAZpYoRY6UR6zTZlREB7BMpJY4T6k34HcHMPKzP2fr0_BntBnbx0I_b-Y1Trb/s1600/100_0003.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589513670739067218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxGHa5xd_ZIh4cNub04Q5rX-jcNKYGdVibw66HNo4ttePEJBoiC0QmxheegaFB69CGnfSQ4tA57aiUYZ8UAZpYoRY6UR6zTZlREB7BMpJY4T6k34HcHMPKzP2fr0_BntBnbx0I_b-Y1Trb/s400/100_0003.JPG" /></a> <br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0vKsDW2TMgVLFHVdJ7EZzoovbHzZggs3ZciGf1zwp9TH6Qp6TTYwTHDH-ZNAD3fxedJ1O1yqFC6QCmcWPJ-iC7Cl7Wr2Jsv7oyr0W6q1sOZA1pBBBZma_IZ3IoYtF1xFnSNOGZe4oqXzh/s1600/100_0002_crop.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 360px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589512866346821730" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0vKsDW2TMgVLFHVdJ7EZzoovbHzZggs3ZciGf1zwp9TH6Qp6TTYwTHDH-ZNAD3fxedJ1O1yqFC6QCmcWPJ-iC7Cl7Wr2Jsv7oyr0W6q1sOZA1pBBBZma_IZ3IoYtF1xFnSNOGZe4oqXzh/s400/100_0002_crop.jpg" /></a> This little Bream is <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">almost</span> in spawning colors. The only fish that we caught were ugly little things that the locals called Knotheads.<br /> The summer has been so hot that all the Bass and Brim (Bream) are deep and hard to catch. The temps are only now starting to come down some so I think it is time to do some early morning/late evening golf course and farm pond fishing. My son is playing football for his school (7th grade) and the city rec. team league so time has become a premium.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-8904761363868413042010-04-02T00:57:00.002-05:002010-04-02T01:06:27.109-05:002010 season startsMy sons spring break was a couple of weeks ago, so we went up/over to Murphreeburo Tn. and fished the Duck river near the dam for Rainbow Trout. The boy caught a few while I got skunked but I did learn some lessons, white streamers are the way to go.<br /> Two days ago we started the warm water 2010 season and had a blast with #12 black poppers on ultralite rods at a local lake. The Bream were literally jumping out of the water for the flies/poppers. We got there just as the sun was setting and other people were leaving. Sadly I have no pics.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-7745008362171576692010-02-28T15:27:00.002-06:002010-02-28T15:33:23.667-06:00Its been awhileIt has been a long cold and snowy winter, but I can feel spring in the air. There are some ponds I am ready to fish just as soon as the water temps come up just a few more degrees. Hopefully we get to go to the White river for spring break, and we plan on going up to Gattlingburg for summer vacation. I am looking forward to smallies and brookies. A TFO 1wt 6'8" Finesse rod, ultralite White River reel, and I'm waiting on the Orvis 1wt line to get here next week. It should be a heck of a Brim rod. Pictures to follow when all is done and fish are caught.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-48919992122215210822009-05-25T09:38:00.002-05:002009-05-25T09:44:07.148-05:00More BrimI've been fishing the tail end of a storm front that has moved through the last couple of days, trying to catch some Bass with no luck. Brim, some of them are in the 8 inch range, are almost jumping on the hook but no Bass. I have seen them but they refuse to hit poppers and streamers. I'll just have to try some more.apneamanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11317730627747716420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557592494591712557.post-74479304837935932792009-05-13T15:59:00.004-05:002009-05-13T16:07:01.850-05:00Wearing them out.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQDs54XM3hNdkYgnQf6fiMYm5KhpL7f-SakSoH6OtvjyibVFYUdgk3IUUtWzuK8fVzZZ6jc0Cz25OBZQEuhFN1s6Y8f2nlWGjE9TQu6Sk0LuE1bpr-ALohUa43bNgTUj1711w40yzpHmth/s1600-h/Brim09+002.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335417581739226290" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQDs54XM3hNdkYgnQf6fiMYm5KhpL7f-SakSoH6OtvjyibVFYUdgk3IUUtWzuK8fVzZZ6jc0Cz25OBZQEuhFN1s6Y8f2nlWGjE9TQu6Sk0LuE1bpr-ALohUa43bNgTUj1711w40yzpHmth/s400/Brim09+002.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG3tRUqfLHQZUaTG1a5-H25TuXGEPGZlHNxbi1XwiInxlLWmE3cZt9nnEKo-uowd-lKjxr4kTc_H0s6ccwen1zN8IJPDAEzDRBxS7koutRwt3Z5JyjlZuuHfXEeE9opi39rHRq8f1V9vjZ/s1600-h/Brim09+001.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335417494168353618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG3tRUqfLHQZUaTG1a5-H25TuXGEPGZlHNxbi1XwiInxlLWmE3cZt9nnEKo-uowd-lKjxr4kTc_H0s6ccwen1zN8IJPDAEzDRBxS7koutRwt3Z5JyjlZuuHfXEeE9opi39rHRq8f1V9vjZ/s400/Brim09+001.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>The Boy and I have been fishing for a couple of hours late in the afternoon for the last few days at a local public park.
